This month's evening Relief Society meeting was all about creating.

We started the evening with a yummy dinner, 

followed by an art lesson from Rachel A.

We all created these gorgeous pieces of art!

JoAnn taught us how to frost a cupcake with a decorator tip.  

The cupcakes were delicious!

We all went home with a decorator tip and icing bag 

so we may create more lovely frosted cupcakes at home.

Jamie taught how to upcycle old t-shirts into beautiful new flowers.

We have so many creative people in our ward 

and it was wonderful to share the evening with them all!

Lois Lott

1923 ~ 2013
Lois G. Lott of Salt Lake City passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2013. She was 90 years of age. 
Lois was born June 18, 1923 in Lehi, Utah to Israel L. and Emma Brown Lott. Graduated from Lehi High School and attended the L.D.S. Business College. During World War II she worked at the Geneva Steel Plant in Provo, Utah. Later, was employed as a secretary at Salt Lake City Federal Reserve Bank, Traffic Manager at KLAS Radio in Las Vegas, Nevada and KDYL/KCPX Radio in Salt Lake City. She was then secretary to the manager of KABC Radio in Los Angeles, and after 25 years as a legal secretary, retired from the law firm of Goldman & Kagan, also in Los Angeles. She was an active member of the Westwood First Ward in Los Angeles.
When Lois retired from 25 years with the law firm, she didn't really retire. Instead, she moved to Salt Lake City and began a second career as a volunteer at the Division of State History/Utah State Historical Society. She spent five days a week at her desk there. In 2006, by then President Bush, her work earned her the prestigious President's Call To Service Lifetime Award, which is given to American citizens who have volunteered 4,000 hours or more over the course of a lifetime. She actually donated some 16,000 hours to Utah State History! She was also active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Grandview First Ward.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, brother Wreal Lott, sisters Juliet Black, Marie Kleinman, and Marjorie Timpson. She is survived by nephews and nieces. 
We will certainly miss Lois' positive demeanor and infectious laugh/giggle.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19th at the Lehi City Cemetery in Lehi, Utah. 
In lieu of flowers, Lois requested that contributions be made in her name to your favorite charity .

Elizabeth Alley Snow Day"Maga"

Salt Lake City, UT-Elizabeth "Betty" passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013. She was born July 18, 1919 in Midvale, Utah to Dr. John Symonds Alley and Edna Myrtle McElravy. She loved to share stories about growing up in Midvale. Her father was the town doctor and her mother his nurse. She had many great adventures with her only brother Jack. She graduated from Jordan High School, and attended the University of Utah where she received a degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She also caught the heart of the handsome football star Paul Homer Snow, whom she married January 3, 1942 in Enid, Oklahoma. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple, April 18, 1960. Paul passed away June 30, 1960. Betty married Carl Nelson Day June 16, 1962. He was killed in a car accident November 17, 1974. After retiring from teaching, Mom spent her winters in Arizona. She enjoyed an active lifestyle. She loved social dancing her whole life. She was even dancing at her 93rd birthday party with her oxygen tank and walker in tow. Mom always loved a good party! Mom also loved to help others. She was a member of The Assistance League of Salt Lake City. She served faithfully in the LDS church. She had many friends. We will miss her dearly. She is survived by three children, John P. Snow "Jack" (Pam) Mesa, Arizona, Robert J. Snow (Connie) Salt Lake City, Utah, and Paula Snow Madsen (Neil) Fruit Heights, Utah, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, step-sons Robert Day and David Day, and loving cat, Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Symonds Alley Jr., her husbands Paul H. Snow, and C. Nelson Day, and a grandson Paul Thomas Snow. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Her family would like to thank all those who cared for her and who loved her the past few years especially her family at Sunrise at Holladay Assisted Loving. Florence Keiser

1914 ~ 2012
Our beloved mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend Florence Irene Pay Keiser, 98, died of natural causes on Monday, December 31, 2012. She was born November 27, 1914 in Nephi, Utah to Edward James and Eda Marion Tranter Pay and was the second of five children. The family moved to Salt Lake where she met and later married Herman L. Keiser in the Salt Lake Temple, June 25, 1938. They had a family of six children and provided a wonderful home full of love and laughter. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She truly was a woman of faith and a great example to her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her siblings: Alice King, Donald (Donna) Pay and Ruth Peterson along with her children: Robert H. (Sara), James D. (Annette), Carolyn Keiser, Janice (Gil) Baker, Shirley Keiser, JoAnn Cook, 37 grandchildren and 111 great-grandchildren (and counting). She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, brother Rex, two brothers-in-law and son-in-law, John Cook. We'd like to thank the Hospice team at CNS for all their loving care and support: Shellie, Dena, Gena, Lisa, Jimmy, John and volunteers: Karen and Gail.
Services will be on Saturday, January 5 at 12 noon at the Alta View Stake Center 1850 East 8600 South. Friends may call Friday, from 6-8p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South or from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
