Tomorrow (Saturday, April 3) is the truckload wheat sale at the Bosch Kitchen Center stores. If you are in the market for wheat or any breadmaking supplies (honey, yeast. lecithin, gluten flour, dough enhancer, etc.), this is the best time to buy. If you miss this sale, there will be another on conference Saturday in October.
I love the wheat from the Bosch stores. A truckload of the bread quality wheat (white or traditional red) is brought in for that sale. You can also get soft white wheat (best for non-yeast recipies like pancakes, muffins, etc. as well as sprouting). In addition, they will have their mills and mixers on sale. If you want to make bread quickly, an electric mill is the one to buy. If you really don't use your wheat but want one for emergency use, a hand grinder is fine. Both will be on sale, as well as the Bosch mixers and a lot of other kitchen equipment. They will have food storage buckets, black and pinto beans, butane stoves, coconut and canola oil, powdered milk, powdered eggs, Mexican vanilla, oat groats and flaker mills (to make your own fresh oatmeal), molasses, 6-grain rolled cereal, baking powder, Real Salt, spelt, water storage containers, Xagave (a liquid sugar substitute), etc. on sale.
This time the wheat is only $13.99 for 50 pounds--$12.99 for 12 bags if you go between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. Saturday. (That is a savings of $5.00) This price is substantially less than it was a year ago at this time. If you want the low price but don't want 12 bags, you can go in together with another family or two.
The address is 6161 South Highland Drive (that little strip mall on the east side of the street just south of where Van Winkle meets Highland Drive. There is another store in Sandy on 90th South and 7th East.
Just thought there might be someone in the ward interested in wheat!
