April - THANK YOU!

In April we discussed Mosiah 2:20-21 “…if ye should render all the thanks . . . which your whole soul has power to possess . . . yet ye would be unprofitable servants.” The application of this theme, was that we were asked to sincerely say “Thank You” to the people in our lives. So far the past month I have focused on being really sincere in my thanks to people.

A great example to me of someone who is sincere is Jeff. He always tells me thank you for taking care of the kids, cleaning the house, and for making dinner. . . even when all I did was heat up a can our soup. But he says it in a way that makes me think that that can of soup is the best can of soup he’s ever eaten in his entire life!

I have noticed that as I try to say thank you more, I actually notice more things to be thankful for. And I think that it has rubbed off onto my kids, too. A few times, I didn’t need to remind my kids to say think you to someone for something, and they’ve even thank me for helping them with their homework, or getting them a treat at Maverik. I have also notice that being aware and looking for things to be thankful for has blessed my life with more gratitude in my heart for the simple things that bless my heart.
