November - Hands

In November, we discussed the scripture Alma 26:3 “… we have been made instruments in the hands of god to bring about this great work,” and we saw a wonderful video of some of the many helping hands in our ward. This application of this theme was that we were challenged to find new ways to use our hands to bless the lives of others.

Since then, as I have tried to find ways to serve others, it has made me notice more how other people’s hands have blessed my life.

A few months ago, as I was sitting in the temple, I could see just right down the row of people, and I recognized Jeff’s hands. It made me stop to think about whether I thought I would recognize my Savior’s hands. Then the thought occurred to me that I see his hands ever day through people around me who serve me. Like the sweet sister who picked up the phone to call and see how I was doing…just when I needed it. Or getting a nice thank you not in the mail. Someone holding the door open for me as I go into a store. A priesthood blessing.

I am so thankful for all of the great people around me who are so willing to use their hands just like the Savior would. It has made me really focus on helping others, and noticing when they do little things to help me.
